Students who complete this course should expect improved confidence in their report writing skills and an enhanced understanding of the vital information to be included in a police report.
Report writing is crucial to the success of law enforcement and security professionals. This course will cover report writing from the perspective of the officer, the supervisor, and the public occupying the jury box. Topics to be covered will include use of force, report construction, information gathering, and the positive and negative outcomes of a well written versus a poorly written report. The format of this class will consist of lecture as well as break-out group activities.
