3-day Rifle Instructor Course
During this 3-day course, students will learn the fundamentals of rifle instruction. This course will provide the most effective techniques for rifle operation. Additionally, students will learn repeatable strategies for instruction that those officers can bring back to their agencies.
This course will include fundamentals and elements of shooting, lesson plans, transition drills, and techniques for effectively teaching others. Topics will include loading and unloading, drawing from a duty holster and re-holstering, tactical ready positions, various types of reloads, clearing malfunctions, one-handed shooting with weapon and reaction hand, positional shooting, weapons maintenance, and equipment selection.
This small group environment will include instruction by demonstration, lecture and coaching, as well as live fire drills and a qualification live fire exercise. Students will conduct teach backs, learn to run the firing line, and give a brief presentation during the course.

Prerequisites: STUDENTS MUST HAVE COMPLETE AN APPROVED FIREARMS INSTRUCTOR COURSE PRIOR TO ATTENDING THIS EVENT.
TIME: 0800-1600 hours daily
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
- 1,000 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition
- Rifle, with sling, and at least three magazines
- Duty pistol, with 50 rounds of ammunition
- Clothing appropriate for the weather conditions
- Duty belt or Load Bearing Vest
- Eye and ear protection
- Extra batteries for equipment
