Derrick Herling “Herls”

Derrick Herling, a.k.a. “Herls” has been a police officer since 1993. His previous assignments include: Patrol, SWAT, and Special Investigations. Derrick has experience serving as a Crisis Negotiator, FTO, and Use of Force Instructor.
Beginning in 2008, Derrick has been assigned full time as a range officer in a large metropolitan police department. He has earned the reputation of a skilled instructor and trusted resource for police recruits, veteran officers, and administrators alike. Beyond law enforcement, Derrick has experience training private security professionals and college students.
