JT

Instructor

JT is a current US Army Special Forces operator. During his service in the United States Army, JT has completed the following schools: Airborne, Ranger, Sniper, SERE, Special Operations Combatives Program (SOCP), Modern Army Combatives Program (MACP) level 4, Advanced Urban Combat, and Combat Tracker. Additionally, JT has earned the Special Forces tab (Green Beret) and qualified as an 18D Special Forces Medical Sergeant. JT has held full time positions as a Sniper Team Leader, Army Combatives Instructor, and Combat Medic, with deployments to the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Northwest Africa.

JT is also an accomplished lifelong martial artist. During JT’s military service, he has coached, competed, and managed Army Combatives unit level programs. He served as a resident Combatives Instructor at Ft. Benning, GA and Ft. McCoy, WI. JT has competed in MMA, including a 2nd place finish among international level military Combatives competition.

JT’s martial arts experience and expertise extends well beyond his MACP affiliation. He has trained Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 2002 and holds the rank of BJJ brown belt under Greg Nelson, the Academy. In 2008, JT trained extensively in Muay Thai at Tiger Muay Thai and MMA Phuket, Sasiprapa Bangkok, and Fairfax Pattaya. In 2010, he went to the source of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, training for months in Brazil at Alliance in São Paulo, Gracie Barra in Rio, and Waves Academy in Florianópolis.

JT’s civilian training and experience includes SCUBA Divemaster rating and Registered Paramedic.
