Officer Survival Series
In collaboration with STORM Training Group
Groveland, Florida

Contact to Custody brings together Rob Magao’s Officer Survival Series (OSS) and STORM Training Group for two days of practical, pressure-tested arrest and control training built around the realities officers face in the field.
The course focuses on giving officers efficient and repeatable methods for taking control of resistant subjects while reducing unnecessary force through better positioning, leverage, communication, teamwork, and decision-making.
Rob Magao and OSS will lead the solo-officer portion of the program, focusing on efficient takedowns, control positions, transitions, and arrest procedures designed for immediate field application. Rather than relying on techniques that only work under ideal training conditions, the emphasis is on simple concepts and movements that can be applied against realistic resistance.
STORM Training Group will then build on those concepts by integrating coordinated officer responses, communication, and multiple-officer control tactics. Students will work through the transition from individual officer contact to an organized team response, with an emphasis on officers working together rather than independently.
Throughout the course, students will train under progressively more realistic conditions while examining how tactics hold up when subjects resist, positions change, additional officers arrive, and plans do not unfold perfectly. The program emphasizes scalable tactics, officer safety, sound decision-making, and methods informed by real-world law enforcement experience and the analysis of actual force encounters.

Building From Individual Control to Coordinated Team Tactics
STORM Training Group instructors will build on the OSS material by integrating communication, coordinated movement, and multiple-officer control strategies.
The goal is to help officers recognize how an effective individual control effort should evolve as additional personnel arrive, creating a more organized, efficient, and defensible team response.
