Scenario Based Training (SBT) is widely relied upon by agencies to train their officers in critical skills while enhancing their decision-making process. When done correctly, SBT can be an extremely beneficial tool. However, without proper planning and execution SBT only reinforces poor tactics and techniques, and creates unintended consequences.

Upon completion of this course, students will be fully prepared to safely implement a Scenario Based Training program at their agency.  Students will leave with scenario creation worksheets, sample scenarios, safety checklists, and a new found understanding of implementing the most effective training possible.

Topics covered include but are not limited to:

  • How to safely conduct SBT
  • How to identify and achieve desired training objectives with SBT
  • Scenario design and creation
  • Avoiding unintended consequences and “training scars”
  • How to prepare students for success in SBT

“Likely some of the best instructors I have had over 10+ years in law enforcement. The instructors were very experienced with resumes to back it up! I highly recommend this course. Fun, solid curriculum, and solid instructors with great teaching styles and demeanors.”

“This was a great course for an agency starting a Scenario Based Training program. We are leaving with a good knowledge base on developing effective training. The instructors were knowledgeable, kept the course moving, and provided great instruction and feedback. The course is worth the time and cost.”
