Red Dot Sight, Pistol Instructor Course
This instructor level course will provide the student with a comprehensive understanding of the MRDS system, associated equipment, policy/admin proposal process, MRDS specific shooter diagnostic/correction and LE specific applications.
Students will participate in a variety of dry/live fire skill building and shooter diagnostic drills to deepen their understanding of the system. Upon course completion the instructor will have the foundation of knowledge necessary to establish and facilitate a MRDS program at their agency. It is strongly recommended that students are already firearms instructors.

- Intro to the MRDS system
- Optic/equipment selection for LE use
- Care, maintenance and installation of the MRDS system
- Administration proposal and policy development process
- Practical shooting fundamentals applied to the MRDS
- Dry fire programming for skill development
- Zeroing process and procedures
- Dot acquisition/re-acquisition
- Recoil management
- Target transitions
- Support hand/strong hand only
- MRDS specific malfunctions
- Positional shooting and MRDS challenges
- Shooting on the move with MRDS
- Low-light MRDS techniques with both handheld and weapon mounted lights
Equipment:
- RDS Equipped handgun and holster with at least 3 magazines
- Duty belt and gear (belt mounted magazine pouch)
- 1000 rounds of handgun ammunition
- Handheld flashlight
- Weapon mounted light (optional)
- Ear and eye protection
- Spare batteries for lights and optics carried
- Lens pen/microfiber cloth/cat crap to clean optic as needed
- Note taking materials
