3-Day Instructor Course –
This course is a continuation of our popular Trauma Med course. Developed by Army Special Forces medics (Green Berets), and LEO’s working in special operations, this course will take you beyond skills development and prepare you to more effectively bring these valuable skills back to your agency. You will learn from instructors with real-world experience in tactical medicine and extensive knowledge of training design for personnel in law enforcement.
As a Trauma Med Instructor, you will gain a deeper understanding of trauma medicine. We will cover the following subtopics:
- Equipment selection and storage
- Multi-system trauma patients
- Wound packing
- Managing airway and breathing
- Managing circulation
- Treating yourself and others
- Managing hypothermia
- Drills to build proficiency
- Scenario training development
This is not a “first aid” course. By the end of this course, you will be making intelligent assessments in a complex environment while providing critical aid to casualties. This will be accomplished by creating a solid foundation of knowledge and providing you an opportunity to understand the management of various wound sets. Furthermore, you will learn how to use skill building drills to pass on your knowledge to other officers. Finally, you will gain insights and experience creating scenarios that integrate realistic elements of tactical medicine to develop and/or ensure competency within your team.
